HIPPS & Subsea Processing

High Integrity Pressure Protection Systems

Trendsetter’s patented High Integrity Pressure Protection System (HIPPS) design is a state-of-the-art, stand-alone pressure protection system that provides peace of mind with dual barrier well control.

The HIPPS module can be located in the production flow path between the source pressure, such as a production well, and standard subsea equipment, like the production manifold, to protect lower-rated equipment downstream of the fortified zone.  In an event the internal pressure at the HIPPS module exceeds the trip point, which is predetermined based on the pressure ratings of the downstream equipment, the HIPPS module valves will then close, thereby preventing the over pressurization of the equipment downstream of the HIPPS module.   In short, the HIPPS provides an independent, fully autonomous means for protecting lower pressure downstream hardware.

Later in the reservoir life, the HIPPS module may be locked open or recovered and re-purposed for future applications.  Trendsetter can service the HIPPS worldwide and support offshore deployments.

The HIPPS module can be rated up to 15,000 psi and provides an independent, fully autonomous, SIL3 rated means for protecting the lower-rated downstream sections. The compact design of the HIPPS module allows the deployment inside of a clustered drill center or other crowded area within a subsea development.

Trendsetter Engineering’s design process is built upon the requirements of ISO:9001 and industry best practices.

Flow Meter Module

The Trendsetter Engineering Wet Gas Flow Meter (WGFMM) is a sophisticated device designed to measure the flow of wet gas in subsea production systems. It integrates multiple production instruments around the innovative DB7 Dual-Bore Connection System, which simplifies installation and recovery with a single hook and torque tool operation. This ease of use allows for quick replacement of meters and sensors, reducing downtime and maintenance costs.

The WGFMM's compact design offers immediate cost benefits, as it can be accommodated by smaller vessels, further reducing operational expenses. The DB7 Connector, a key component of the system, features a single 3-piece clamp arrangement with a dual bore hub, supporting up to a 7” inlet and outlet through a removable subsea connection. This module includes an integrated soft land cylinder and dual TEX gasket preparations, enabling independent back seal testing. The system operates with an industry-standard Class 7 Torque, ensuring reliable performance.  The piping attached to the DB7 hub connects to a single flow loop hub and allows for operations up to 10,000 psi.

In addition to the Wet Gas Flow Meter, the module is equipped with an Acoustic Sand Detector, Watercut Meter, and Pressure/Temperature Sensors.  These additional instruments enhance the system's functionality, providing comprehensive monitoring and measurement capabilities. The WGFMM can also be configured to meet specific project requirements, offering flexibility and adaptability for various applications.

HIGHLIGHTED FEATURES:

  • Dual 3", 5", or 7" bores with TCS Clamp
  • Dual MTM TEX gaskets with independent back seals
  • Easy subsea integration
  • 10,000 psi pressure rating
