Trendsetter Awarded Four Capping Stacks for Subsea Well Response Project
Houston, Texas – Trendsetter Engineering, Inc. has been awarded the contract by Oil Spill Response Ltd (OSRL) to construct four capping stack toolboxes that would be available for use should an offshore subsea well-control incident occur. OSRL is an industry-owned co-operative and the largest global provider of oil spill response and preparedness services. OSRL is collaborating with The Subsea Well Response Project (SWRP), formed by nine of the world's leading oil and gas companies, to make a new integrated intervention system available to the global industry.
These capping stacks are capable of containing subsea oil wells in water depths up to 10,000 feet in the event of a subsea well-control incident. Equipment delivery is expected in 2012. In 2013, OSRL will direct the movement of the equipment from Trendsetter's facility in Houston, Texas to four (4) strategic storage locations—Northern Europe, South America, Africa and Asia‐Pacific. Specific storage sites will be selected upon completion of its logistics studies.
"Participating with OSRL's efforts allows Trendsetter to expand its reach worldwide. It is rewarding to know that we are making a difference by assisting OSRL in improving global emergency response capabilities."
