Biography
Mike Cargol’s oil and gas career spans 25 years and ranges from operational to management roles in drilling, completion, intervention, abandonment, well control and subsea operations. In his current position as Vice President at Trendsetter Engineering, Inc., Mike and his team are responsible for ensuring a state of deployment and operational readiness for subsea capping and containment equipment systems staged around the world as well as working with industry to improve the level of awareness, response planning and preparedness as it relates to subsea source control.
Mike’s introduction to the world of subsea source control started in 2005 with the planning and management of offshore response and recovery operations for multiple downed platforms resulting from hurricanes Rita, Katrina and Ike in the Gulf of Mexico. Prior to joining Trendsetter in 2013, he served as General Manager for Wild Well Control’s subsea well intervention and subsea well control response divisions, during which time he played an active role in the Deepwater Horizon subsea source control response operations as well as oversaw the commissioning and operational support of the source control and containment equipment for Shell’s arctic drilling campaigns.
