High Integrity Pressure Protection Systems
About Trendsetter’s HIPPS Module
Trendsetter’s High Integrity Pressure Protection System (HIPPS) design is a state-of-the-art, stand-alone pressure protection system. The HIPPS module can be located in the production flow path between the source pressure, like a production well, and standard subsea equipment such as the production manifold. This is to protect lower rated equipment downstream of the fortified zone. In an event the internal pressure at the HIPPS module exceeds the trip point, which is predetermined based on the pressure ratings of the downstream equipment, the HIPPS module valves will then close, thereby preventing the over pressurization of the equipment downstream of the HIPPS module. The HIPPS module can be rated up to 15,000 psi and provides an independent, fully autonomous, SIL3 rated means for protecting the lower-rated downstream sections. The compact design of the HIPPS module allows the deployment inside of a clustered drill center or other crowded area within a subsea development. Trendsetter Engineering’s design process is built upon the requirements of ISO:9001 and industry best practices. |
