Electrical Technician
Description

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop specifications and test requirements that drive product design.
- Analyze design reliability, serviceability and manufacturability.
- Perform software and firmware installation, configure software for product or project application.
- Drive continuous improvement to electrical scope best practices by evaluating industry tools and techniques, then collaborating with the electrical engineering team to discuss implementation.
- Perform engineering duties at customer sites, or offshore when required.
- Worked with RS232, RS485 and CAN bus communication protocol
- Ability to read and understand one-line diagrams, wirings diagrams, ladder diagrams, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematics, pneumatics schematics and piping and instrumentation diagrams
- Experience building and troubleshooting Subsea Communication Modules, Subsea Power and Communication Units, Electrical Power Units, Master Control Stations, Subsea Electronic Units and Hydraulic Valve Packs
- Knowledgeable on hydraulic components such as regulators, relief valves, different types of hoses, fittings, and adapters used on test set-ups and assemblies.
- Assists with FAT’s (Factory Acceptance Tests), EFAT’s (Extended Factory Acceptance Tests), and SIT’s (System Integration Tests) as required
- Performs diagnostic troubleshooting on failed electronic, hydraulic, or mechanical equipment of minor to moderate difficulty with little guidance
- Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose problems found with test equipment and product applications using critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently to identifying tools, fixtures, and equipment to perform testing.
- Must be competent using appropriate tooling (4-20 mA, megger, test connectors, torque wrenches, torque gun, etc.)
- Act as a Safety Leader ensuring the ongoing identification of hazards and the implementation of controls to manage the associated risks with a special focus on Permit to Work and Isolation procedures.
- Leads the execution of the assembly and testing of fast-paced projects.
- Promote teamwork and take an active part in meeting customer service requirements
- Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and organized. Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment.

- Share knowledge & best practice across the company

Qualifications:
- At least 3 to 5 years-experience as an Electrical Technician
- Familiar with API 17F and API 17G
- Familiar with NFPA 70, NFPA 70B, NFPA 70E, NFPA 110 and NFPA 111
- Certified IPC (J-STD-001) Soldering
- Certified IPC (IPC/WHMA-A-620A) Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies
- Certified IPC (IPC-A-610D) Electronic Assemblies
- Ability to demonstrate strong decision-making skills, initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan
